A few years ago, Rosemary Clooney,
Aunt of George Clooney, appeared on Tom Snyder’s radio show. Clooney and Snyder have known each other for years, ever since they became neighbors in Beverly Hills.

“Rosie,” Snyder said. “You look great. Did you lose weight?”

“Yes,” the 300+ pound Clooney replied. “Last I checked it was over half a ton.”

The two laughed, the studio phones lit up with callers and the comment became part of the Clooney saga.

Rosemary Clooney – like millions of other Americans – always seemed to be on a diet.

And, she probably did lose 1,000 pounds. The problem, she lamented, was that she gained 1,002 pounds.

How many pounds have each of lost – and then gained back? If weight fluctuates day-by-day, maybe by a pound or two, does that mean each of us loses 365 pounds a year? Makes sense, but that means people also gain 365 – or maybe even 730 – pounds a year. That can’t be
healthy.

Many determine their self worth by their weight alone. Overweight people are often shunned by Hollywood, some make lifestyle changes and
become incredibly fit. Once a celebrity has made changes in their
life and gotten into shape, they often receive lucrative offers as a spokesperson for health and fitness related products.

It sometimes seems as though anyone who has ever lost weight ends up pitching their own diet or their workout program. These celebrities use their weight loss to get television commercials for diet companies or diet supplements.

Talk show hosts can go, from showing a wagon full of “fat” to confessing to gaining weight back, and former sitcom stars enter self-imposed me a culpa when
they lose and then gain and then lose and then gain…again and again.

A very common question you see on the internet is, “how to lose weight fast?” The best method is diet and exercise. So then why are people constantly looking for a shortcut, for a magic pill or secret solution? Many people are turning to the internet and websites like the biggest loser forum to find responsible weight loss advice from people who know what they are talking about.

Everyone wants the contestants on shows like “The Biggest Loser” to succeed. The workout and diet regimens on the show are inspiring to millions. Just stepping onto a scale in front of millions of people is enough to make most sweat bullets. (Most people find it difficult to be weighed at the doctor’s office by one medical assistant.)

If we would pay as much attention to our weight year round as we do at New Years, we would be a much healthier nation. Become a big loser this year and stick your health goals all twelve months of the year.

A quote by Winston Churchill goes like this: “a lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.”If only Churchill could see the lies concerning fitness that are going on the Internet these days. Those who are looking for some ways how to lose weight fast are sometimes more vulnerable to deceitful advertising.

With blatant myth and scams all over, if you’re not skeptical of all the supplements, weight loss, and fitness claims, you are going to waste a lot of money. If you do, you are going to lose a lot of time and get confused.

You need to compare your personal experience with the research and peer reviews to evaluate the claims that you hear.Because easy to miss understand what causes the results, you can easily form incorrect conclusions. For instance, let’s say you took a pill that is sold as a fat burner, and you begin to lose weight.

Put your weight loss might have been caused by something else like your nutrition or training program.Because of this you should be very cautious when drawing conclusions. Even what you thought were healthy foods to eat may not be.

Even interpreting research should be careful process. Here are a few ways that will help you understand research.

To get started you should read something about the scientific method: I recommend a book called The Demon Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark By Carl Sagan.

Next you should learn about fallacies and how to form a good argument. Finally, read some books that talk about skepticism such as How We Know What Isn’t So by Gilovich. You can understand advertising, research, and is better after have developed better thinking.

You’ll begin to see through the manipulation of statistics like the kind being used in infomercials. Some research just goes a long enough to get confirmation of someone’s beliefs, rather than going for the facts. Those who are only looking for information to confirm what they already think are not very scientific at all.

For more great info, go to our weight loss forum or go to www.fatlossfactor.com for a free report.

Weight is ingrained into the American psyche Overweight people are often shunned by Hollywood, some make lifestyle changes and
become incredibly fit. Those who work hard to get
themselves into shape often become advocates of a healthy lifestyle, in an effort to help others regain their health.

It sometimes seems as though anyone who has ever lost weight ends up pitching their own diet or their workout program. Famous people who lose weight turn it into TV commercials for weight loss companies or manufacturers of diet supplements.

There seems to be an epidemic of those that constantly move up and down the scale.

(Most people find it difficult to be weighed at the doctor’s office by one medical assistant.)

The yo-yo cycle begins anew each year with new year resolutions. We can do the math and know if it’s time to become a big loser.

How others are always talking about losing weight fast is very important. This article will provide you with the info that you need to make this happen. Without even thinking about most people are eating poisonEven small amounts of the substance has been scientifically linked to heart disease, type II diabetes, and a destructive effect on nearly every cell in your body.

This poison is a food additive called trans fatty acids (TFAs).Almost all TFAs are man-made except some which are found in dairy products.

New food labeling laws brought the problem of TFAs to public attention since 2006.Some states have banned the use of TFAs in restaurants.

Research has shown increased deaths from myocardial infarction and CHD with even small amounts of the substance.

People in the United States get between two and 3% of their energy from TFA consumption. Places where fast food is new have much higher percentages than those who eat high amounts of fried food and pastries can get up to 10% of energy from TFAs.While some experts say that there is no safe level of TFA intake, the government says that the maximum is about 1% of total energy intake which is about 2 g.

We have to ask why trans fats are so widespread even though we know that there are so dangerous. The reason is that TFAs are used to produce food that has a long life restorers and transportation.

Although a lot of people heard of TFAs, a lot of ignorance remains as well as inaction.

We can tell that the percentage of Americans aware of TFA is increasing from surveys that show that 73% are aware of the risks of heart disease..Unfortunately, the increased awareness hasn’t changed much behavior according to University of Colorado researcher Robert Eckel. A survey by the ADA showed that 79% of Americans could not identify three foods that had trans fats in them.

Here are some good guidelines and some foods to avoid.

1. Look at the ingredients that are in your food.If you’re food contains hydrogenated oils such as soybean, cottonseed, and palm oils, it has TFA content.

2. Be aware of labeling loophole’s.Even if food has hydrogenated oils ingredients, some companies will put TFA free on their label.Because the government allows them to claim zero trans fat if they have less than half a gram of trans fat per serving, they will change the serving size until it is so small that the TFA content is less than half per serving.

3. Eat label – less foods. if you eat natural foods like brown rice, fruits, nuts, and fish, you won’t have to worry about TFAs. These are also some ways on how to lose weight fast.

4. Avoid foods that often contain TFAs. These foods are baked, fried and packaged foods like biscuits, packaged popcorn, taco shells, breaded chicken, and the list just goes on.

Anything that helps address the TFA problem by legislation or lifestyle changes will be good for overall health.Generally, I don’t like identifying food is poison, foods with TFA content are a definite exception. If you cannot totally eliminate TFAs from your diet at least try to be more conscious of to keep them to a minimum. You need to be careful too because TFAs they become replaced by something that is worse if they are banned.

Is the general truth that pain is necessary for gain true, or is it just a fitness fable?I have found that to be successful in any part of life means that we must be willing to endure some discomfort, although some people think they can be fit without any inconvenience at all. This is true even for those looking for how to lose weight fast.

I don’t believe that you can just maintain your present condition with ease: you are always either progressing or moving backward. Therefore, you should view your life and your fitness as a struggle for constant growth.

The unfamiliar, uncomfortable, and the limited must be confronted if you are going to grow. Here’s a quote by the founder of the National Speakers Association, Cavett Robert, who said, “Most people are running around their whole lives with their umbilical cords in their hands and they’re looking for some place to plug it back in.”The security of the “womb” is preferred by most people because they are afraid of the uncertainty that comes with the unfamiliar and the unknown.

They quit and retreat to safety every time something gets hard.Exceptional people, on the other hand, understand that, to avoid stagnation, discomfort must be experienced as they traverse the unknown.

A good example of this is Walt Disney’s “Imagineering” where Disney always wanted to do something new. Here’s a good saying that you should pin up somewhere where you will see it every day: “If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.”

You’re not going to experience any growth if you want to make progress. Just like in diet, you have to get some healthy foods to eat if you’re going to learn how to lose weight fast.

You are not exempt from the rule of entropy: you will always head towards deterioration if you don’t work against it.Whether in their personal life, business, sports or fitness, people don’t want to experience discomfort even if it means they will decline. The comfort zone is where you are at rest and have no pain.

No matter who contradicts me, getting out of your comfort zone will be painful, but necessary if you are going to grow.I have noticed that those who criticize the “no pain, no gain” reality are those who have not achieved very much. The rewards of achievement are what drive achievers through the pain.

Those who are bodybuilders, Olympians, or pro sports players have to experience a lot of pain, but they are willing to make the sacrifice. The majority of people, however, don’t need to go that far: they just want to lose weight or get fit. These goals involve pushing yourself more than experiencing a lot of pain. The way trainers tell you to become flexible is to stretch to a level of discomfort just short of pain.

The discomfort will go away, but your muscles’ functioning is improved.Every time you push yourself beyond previous limits, you become more flexible, but if you try to do too much too fast, you will get hurt. Those who achieve a lot test their boundaries and push past their limitations to get what they want: the same approach will work for you. It’s moving forward in spite of discomfort, not being stupid and getting hurt.So if you want to be better and to have a better body, you’re going to have to push yourself past your level of comfort.Believe me, whatever you’re doing is inside your comfort level if your body isn’t changing. You need to work hard, experience the “pain” of pushing yourself just the way champions do.You’ll see that the pain was worth it once you put in the work and get through the discomfort.
